His grave is within the mosque ground at the back. The small window halfway up the minaret is said to have originally been a hole made by cannonball fired during the 1867 triad riots. | Chung Keng Kooi Temple [view in PDF] Named after the infamous leader of the 19th Century Hakka secret society called the Hai San Clan, the present site was actually Chung Keng Kooi's townhouse as well as a family temple built in the 1890s. The townhouse-cum-temple is decorated with timber screens, cast iron and stencilled glass and is fenced by an elaborate gold-greenish iron gate.
